Milan Design Week 2026: How Hermès, Louis Vuitton & Gucci Are Redefining Fashion Through Experience

Fluxx Discovery: The Designer Events Defining Milan

Milan Design Week 2026 is once again dominated by the world’s most influential fashion and luxury houses, with names like Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Gucci setting the tone for how fashion shows up in the design space. xxxx xxxx

Rather than traditional product showcases, these top-tier brands are creating immersive, cultural environments, positioning themselves not just as fashion labels, but as multi-disciplinary design authorities.

Fashion is leaning into “Experience as Luxury”, where exhibitions, installations and symposia take precedence over static displays. At the same time, brands are doubling down on “Craft as Cultural Capital”, foregrounding the expertise that underpins luxury—from textile mastery to furniture-making and horology. Alongside this, “The Rise of the Living Archive” is emerging, with heritage houses actively reinterpreting their pasts as dynamic, evolving narratives.

There is also a continued expansion into interiors and lifestyle design, as fashion brands leverage their creative authority across disciplines. Louis Vuitton is using Milan Design Week to launch a full interiors collection—marking one of the most significant expansions into the category by a global fashion house to date. Meanwhile, Gucci leans into its archives and legacy, actively re-authoring its history through immersive storytelling, while Hermès continues to translate its heritage craftsmanship into refined home objects and scenographic installations.

Together, these events position Milan Design Week not just as a design fair, but as a global platform for how the biggest fashion houses are redefining luxury itself.
