From May 14–20, 2026, NYCxDESIGN Festival returns, once again positioning New York as one of the world’s most influential design destinations.
The Fluxx are proud to be media partners for this years festival, bringing together more than 163,000 designers, cultural leaders and global creatives, the festival unfolds across all five boroughs through a dynamic programme of exhibitions, installations, talks and experiences.
As the global design calendar continues to evolve, few figures have influenced its direction as profoundly as Ilene Shaw - the Executive Director of NYCxDesign From co-developing the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) during its formative years to founding the public-facing Design Pavilion, Shaw has spent decades championing design not only as an industry, but as a cultural and civic language.
This is not a single destination, but a citywide cultural moment, where design moves beyond studios and showrooms into the streets, neighbourhoods and everyday spaces that define New York.

Design Pavilion by Lexus, Times Square
Returning to Times Square, Lexus presents an immersive installation exploring the intersection of design, craft and technology, inviting visitors to engage directly with artists and industrial designers through daily programming.

Oui Design! French Craft Spotlight
A citywide programme celebrating French design, Oui Design! explores the evolving relationship between French and American creative communities through exhibitions, talks and open studios.
At its core is a major exhibition at Villa Albertine, introducing emerging designers to a New York audience for the first time.
ICFF & WANTED at Javits Center
A cornerstone of the week, ICFF returns alongside WANTED, bringing together global brands, emerging designers and industry leaders. Framed by the theme Common Ground, the fair positions design as a unifying force across disciplines and geographies.
SHINE at The Seaport
Curated by Harry Allen, SHINE brings together 70 designers exploring light as both object and expression. Blending craft, innovation and artistic experimentation, the exhibition reflects a growing interest in lighting as a central design discipline.

Afternoon Light Design Fair: The Fluxx Edit
Among this year’s programme, the Afternoon Light Design Fair stands out as one of the most aligned moments for The Fluxx audience, a refined, design-led edit of contemporary studios, collectible pieces and forward-thinking brands shaping the global conversation.
Running May 16–19 at WSA, the fair presents over 80 carefully selected exhibitors across three days of discovery and commerce, open to both trade and public audiences.
Here, the focus shifts from scale to curation. From the quiet precision of Anglepoise to the enduring craftsmanship of Carl Hansen & Søn, and the material-led experimentation of Matter Made, the fair reflects a broader shift toward thoughtful, design-driven living.

Studios and brands including Gantri x Rarify, Humanscale, Resource Furniture, USM, Ford Bostwick, Matthew McCormick, Palet, Parma Tile, Phase Design, Symbol Audio and Willett reinforce the intersection between craft, innovation and everyday interiors.

A City of Design Districts
What defines NYCxDESIGN Festival is its ability to transform the entire city into a layered design experience.
